Doctor Sheona McHale

Sheona McHale is a research fellow of the Centre for Cardiovascular Health within the School of Health and Social Care at Edinburgh Napier University. Since graduating with a BA (merit) in Sports Studies in 2005, Sheona has worked as a specialist cardiac rehabilitation exercise instructor and as a lecturer of fitness, health and exercise. In January 2020, Sheona joined Edinburgh Napier University as a research assistant working on a study exploring views of professionals engaged in the development and provision of green health interventions. Her research interests embrace the physical activity behaviours of individuals diagnosed with cardiovascular disease and her PhD from Edinburgh Napier University (2021) was based on the perceived levels of physical activity on engagement with cardiac rehabilitation after acute coronary syndrome. Sheona's current research projects include evaluating the delivery of remote healthcare to cardiovascular patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
