Doctor Matteo Gabriele Monda

University of Florence, Florence (Italy)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Meet Matteo Gabriele Monda, a 5th-year Emergency Medicine resident at Florence's hub, Careggi University Hospital. He thrives in the OSAI unit – the ED's Critical Care zone – tackling complex, multi-comorbid patients: severe COPD/NIV, tough septic shock, refractory AF, crashing heart failure... embracing these diagnostic & management puzzles daily. Skilled in point-of-care ultrasound, specializing in echocardiography (SIECVI pending) and proficient in lung/abdominal scans. His diverse background includes an impactful 8 months in Colombia (Hospital Neurologico, San Vicente Fundación), gaining broad experience in neuro, trauma, ICU, peds emergencies. Also worked in a COVID high-dependency unit. Fluent in Italian, English, Spanish. Research passion led him to design a protocol on Landiolol in septic shock/rapid AF (assessing LVOT VTI x HR; ethics pending). Passions outside medicine: cinema, anime/manga, cooking, philosophy, psychoanalysis, and (genuinely!) scientific articles.

Septic Shock, Septic Thrombocytopenia, and Atrial Fibrillation with a high heart rate that resists every first- and second-line agent, is there or is there not a brilliant solution?
