Miss Amelia Jimenez-Heffernan

Amelia Jimenez-Heffernan MD, PhD, FEBNM, FASNC is Head of the Nuclear Medicine Department (NMD) at Hospital Juan Ramon Jimenez in Huelva, Spain and has a strong interest in Nuclear Cardiology (NC). She graduated from Medical School in 1986 and completed her Nuclear Medicine training in 1990. She obtained her PhD in 1989 with a NC thesis. From 1991 on she has worked at different public hospitals in Andalucia, the southern region in Spain, opening the NMD in Huelva in 1994. Dr Jimenez-Heffernan is Board Certified and Re-certified by the European Board of Nuclear Medicine (2011) and the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (2008 & 2019). She holds a Master's degree in Research Methodology in Health Science by Huelva University and a Postgraduate degree in Principles & Practice of Clinical Research by Harvard University in 2015 for which she received an award for her performance. The NMD she runs was the first one to use the cardiac stress agent Regadenoson in Spain in 2010.
