Dr Bernabei is a Cardiology Resident at the University Hospital of Trieste with a strong background in cardiac surgery and research. A summa cum laude graduate from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University under Prof Ottavio Alfieri, she trained at leading centres including Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She holds medical licences in Italy, the UK, and the US (ECFMG-certified). In 2020, she was named among Forbes Italy’s “30 Under 30”, recognised as the first Italian physician to earn a Junior Clinical Fellowship in Cardiac Surgery at Harvard/Brigham. Her academic work includes valve surgery, atrial fibrillation, cardiac tumours, and transplantation. She has published extensively, presented at major international meetings (AATS, STS, Mitral Conclave), and contributed to academic books. Her current interests include advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, and valvular disease, with an integrative and multidisciplinary approach.
