Doctor Tom Mwambingu

Dr Tom Mwambingu is a consultant cardiologist with subspecialty interests in cardiac imaging (advanced echocardiography and cardiac CT). sports and rehabilitation cardiology. He graduated from University of Leeds in 2001 and received a British Heart Foundation Research Fellowship in 2005. He undertook his postgraduate training both in the Yorkshire and North-East regions of England, completing his cardiology training rotation in Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. He returned to Yorkshire in 2012 to take up full-time consultant post. He is Lead Cardiologist at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Sheffield University. He was awarded a Masters degree with distinction in Sports Cardiology from St George’s University, London in 2022. His personal interests include playing football (in between injuries), running, and playing the guitar (semi-competently).
