Jim Stirrup is a Consultant Cardiologist and Head of Cardiology at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, UK. Special interests include cardiovascular CT, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and Society of Cardiovascular CT (SCCT). He sits on several national UK committees - the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging/CT Executive Committee [Treasurer, past Lead for Accreditation]; SCCT UK International Regional Committee; and the British Nuclear Cardiology Society Council [BSCI/BSCCT Representative]. He was awarded the the National Heart and Lung Institute Thesis Prize in 2014 for work on myocardial applications of cardiac CT. Current research focuses on SPECT left atrial innervation imaging. He is a co-author of the RCR (UK) Standards for CT Coronary Angiography, contributing author to the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Imaging and co-editor of the Oxford Specialist Handbook Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
