Thomas Hellmut Schindler, MD, PhD, is Professor of Radiology and Medicine at the Washington University in St. Louis, and adjunct Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He serves as Consultant in Medicine-Cardiovascular, Director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Imaging Fellowship, and PET/CT program. Dr. Schindler was Director of Nuclear Cardiovascular Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. From 2006-2013, Thomas Schindler had joined the faculty of the University of Geneva (Switzerland), initially as assistant professor, while being promoted to "Privat-Docent" in 2009 and Deputy Head Physician in Cardiology 2010. Thomas Schindler's research has made major contributions in the identification and characterization of coronary circulatory dysfunction, cardiac sarcoidosis & amyloidosis, and myocardial receptor imaging. He received the SNMMI Presidential Distinguished Educator Award (2020) and the Blumgart Award (2018), and 2024 WashU Medicine Golden Teaching Award.
