Heart failure nurse for over ten years with independent prescribing authority. Currently working full-time in Queen's university, undertaking teaching and research. Member of the HFA board 2018-2020, current member of the Executive board 2020-2022. Previous research focused on patients’ and family members’ choice and decision-making at the end-of-life concerning an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator. Current projects include European multi-centre study to design and feasibility test an e-Health product (Passion-HF), a co-design study to develop an educational intervention, exploratory study into cardiac cachexia and pilot study on a psychosocial intervention for caregivers of patients with heart failure.
