Ms Asma Oumkaltoum Rezig

University of Glasgow, Glasgow (United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland)

Asma Oumkaltoum is currently a postgraduate research student at the University of Glasgow, studying immune response in cardiovascular disease. Her PhD project is an integration of an experimental clinical trial and a retrospective analysis of a large heart failure cohort, where preliminary data suggest an association between immune response and congestion. She completed her undergraduate education in Pharmacy (2018) from Kuwait University, then obtained MSc in Cancer Sciences from the University of Glasgow (2019). She has working experience in handling clinical data, blood sample processing and statistical/bioinformatics analyses. Asma is a member of the International Network of Algerian Scientists (INAS) and is interested to establish international collaborations aimed at providing access to evidence-based clinical care to patients in low-moderate income countries, including Algeria, through clinical trial inclusion and biological sample sharing.
