Dr. Enrico G. Ferro is a cardiology fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School, and summa cum laude from Yale College.
Dr. Ferro’s interest lies at the intersection of clinical outcomes and health policy, both in the US and abroad. As a research fellow at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research in Cardiology in Boston, he is developing expertise in using nationwide clinical registries, insurance claims database and clinical trials data to evaluate the real-world efficacy of cardiovascular drugs, devices and health policies.
At the international level, Dr. Ferro has worked to improve treatment outcomes with teams in Peru, Malaysia, India and Togo. Recently, he has been working with teams in South Africa to address the burden of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, and was selected by the World Health Organization to help assemble their list of essential medical devices for cardiovascular care.
