Mr Jeroen Niels Wessels

Jeroen Wessels studied medicine at the University Medical Center in Groningen, The Netherlands. His final internship was a combined position in the pulmonology and cardiology department. After becoming Medical Doctor, he spend a year as resident in the Intensive Care Unit at the Martini Hospital Groningen. It was during this time, he developed his interest in the relationship between heart, lungs and circulation. Afterwards he held residency in pulmonary medicine at the HagaZiekenhuis, the Hague. Because of interest in pulmonology as well as cardiology, he started doing research and working toward a doctorate in ‘right ventricular failure due to pulmonary hypertension’. He is working in the Amsterdam University Medical Center under supervision of prof. Anton Vonk Noordegraaf.
