Dr. Elias Rawish, MD, is a Clinician Scientist at the University Medical Centre Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), Lübeck. His research bridges clinical cardiology and translational science, focusing on mechanisms and novel therapies in calcific aortic valve stenosis, Takotsubo syndrome, and the cardiometabolic syndrome. He leads preclinical and translational projects supported by the German Centre for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). As Coordinating Investigator of the Horizon Europe-funded SGLT2 HYPE trial, he evaluates SGLT2 inhibitors in hypertensive patients at cardiovascular risk—beyond current indications. His work integrates mechanistic insight with clinical trial leadership, including studies on immunometabolism in cardiometabolic disease. He also serves as Young DZHK Co-Speaker for the Hamburg/Kiel/Lübeck site.
