Alicja Zientara is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon and Lecturer (PD Dr. med.) at the University Heart Centre Freiburg/Bad Krozingen in Germany. Her clinical and research interests focus on off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and interventional heart valve procedures. She earned her medical degree from Hannover Medical School in 2010. From 2011 to 2018, she completed her residency in cardiac surgery at both the University Hospital and Triemli Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. Between 2018 and 2022, she further advanced her training as a Senior Clinical Fellow at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in London, UK. Dr. Zientara is actively involved in the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), where she has held multiple roles. From 2018 to 2022, she served as a member of the EACTS Residents Committee, contributing to the development and support of young professionals in the field.
