Dr. Boris Delpire is an internal medicine resident at University Hospitals Leuven and a PhD candidate in Sports Cardiology. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Medicine from the Catholic University of Leuven, where he conducted research on ferroptosis-induced cardiomyopathy and Fc gamma receptors in kidney transplant rejection. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Guido Claessen and Prof. Dr. Rik Willems, Dr. Delpire's PhD research is at the forefront of continuous rhythm monitoring in athletes. His work aims to evaluate and validate devices for continuous rhythm monitoring, with the objectives of enhancing pre-participation screening protocols, improving diagnostic accuracy in symptomatic athletes, and monitoring arrhythmia burden in athletes with cardiovascular conditions. By integrating advanced telemonitoring technology, Dr. Delpire's research aspires to improve athlete safety, contributing to the development of evidence-based guidelines in Sports Cardiology.
