Dr. Schwartz is Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Chief, Cardiology Section, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, USA. His basic and clinical research focuses on lipid and metabolic interventions in coronary heart disease. He has participated in the design and leadership of large clinical trials in this area. Dr. Schwartz received his MD and PhD degrees from Duke University and fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where he also served on the faculty.
