Michele Marchetta is a fourth-year cardiology resident at Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli in Rome and a current research fellow in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Virginia. He earned his medical degree from Sapienza University of Rome in 2021 and is ECFMG-certified. His academic focus lies in the study of inflammatory heart diseases, with a particular interest in myocarditis and pericarditis.
After completing three years of specialty training in cardiology, Dr. Marchetta chose to expand his experience through a dedicated research fellowship in the United States. At the University of Virginia, under the mentorship of Dr. Antonio Abbate, he is engaged in clinical research on the role of inflammation in both acute and chronic cardiac conditions. Building on his clinical background and research experience, Dr. Marchetta is now seeking residency training in the USA to further develop his skills and continue his growth as a physician and scientist.
