Mariana Brandão is a Portuguese cardiologist currently working in Madrid, Spain. She completed her Cardiology Residency at Gaia Hospital Center in Portugal, where she co-founded the center’s Cardiomyopathy Program. She also trained at the Cardiomyopathy Unit of Careggi University Hospital in Florence, Italy, under the guidance of Prof. Iacopo Olivotto. Her clinical activity has also focused on cardiovascular imaging, specifically echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Mariana Brandão is currently a research and clinical fellow at the Inherited Cardiac Diseases Unit at Hospital Universitário Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda. She is also a PhD student, with a project primarily focused on cardiac amyloidosis, under the supervision of Prof. Pablo Garcia Pavia. Within the ESC, Mariana is a member of the Heart Imagers of Tomorrow and the Web and Communication Committees of the EACVI. She has been involved in ESC social media activities since 2023.
