Felix Schönrath, MD (M), is the cardiological head of advanced heart failure, the transplantation programme and the mechanical circulatory support programme at the Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité and a full Professor at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He began his medical training in 2004 and undertook internships and fellowships in both Berlin and at the University Hospital of Zurich. He is board certified in internal medicine, emergency and intensive care medicine, transplant medicine and cardiology. His main research interests are therapies in advanced heart failure with a focus on MCS and transplantation. During his research career, he authored and co-authored more than 150 publications and book chapters and is PI of several research projects funded for example by the European Union, the DZHK and the German Ministry of Health. Currently he serves as Chair of the EUROMACS registry of the EACTS and is member of the ESC, HFA, EACTS DGK.
