Dr. Solberg is a specialist in internal medicine, cardiology and sports medicine. He has published primarily within sports cardiology but also within the field of stress medicine. His main research foci have been athletes, sudden cardiac arrest in sports, screening and precise methodology. He has been the president of ESC Section for sports cardiology and he has also been the leader of the Norwegian working group for preventive cardiology. Dr. Solberg has been an editor of the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
