A/Prof Christina Bursill (BSc (Hons 1) PhD, Adelaide University; Postdoc, Oxford University, UK) is a leader in cardiovascular biology for expertise in the biology and mechanisms of atherosclerosis and vascular inflammation. A/Prof Bursill is Co-director of the Vascular Research Centre at SAHMRI (Adelaide, Australia) and has held two 5-year National Heart Foundation fellowships. A/Prof Bursill is Chair of the South Australian Cardiovascular Research Network and board member of the International Atherosclerosis Society. A/Prof Bursill is past board member of the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance as well as past-President of the Australian Atherosclerosis Society. A/Prof Bursill has received >$4.5 million in competitive research funding in the last 4 years (as CIA), has published 102 manuscripts (Circulation, Cell Metabolism, JCI), supervised >17 PhD students to completion and leads a research team of 8 people. A/Prof Bursill has competed for the Australian rowing team twice.
