Dr. Pavlov is a Head of Cardiac intensive care unit Dubrava University Hospital, Zagreb, Croatia. His main preoccupations are critical care and interventional cardiology, with the focus on acute coronary syndromes, pulmonary embolism, heart failure and cardiogenic shock. He has been involved in primary PCI since 2016, in TAVR since 2022, in aspirational embolectomy for acute pulmonary embolism since 2022. He has been one of the initiators of therapeutic hypothermia and VA-ECMO programme in a non-surgical PCI centre. In 2018 he finished his PhD thesis on predictive value of PAI-1 on long term outcome of STEMI patients treated with primary PCI. Recently, his research focus switched towards acute pulmonary embolism and heart failure. He is involved in implementation of machine learning algorithms in the analyses of cardiology datasets. He is a devoted husband and a father of three. He practices various outdoor activities (hiking, windsurfing, skiing, mountainbiking). He is a dog person.
