Professor Jan Pruim

Prof. Pruim was trained as a nuclear medicine physician at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). He was one of the first doctors in The Netherlands to work with positron emission tomography (PET) in the fields of neurology, oncology and cardiology back in the nineties of the last century. Currently, he is the Educational Chair of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). At the UMCG he is deputy trainer of the combined Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Training Programme, and Chair of the Central Residency Programme, and as such responsible for all resident programmes in the UMCG. Also, he is chair of the co-operating CRCs in the north-eastern part of The Netherlands. In 2014 he was appointed Full Professor of Medical Imaging at the University of Groningen. Next to that he holds a position as Extraordinary (visiting) Professor in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch, South-Africa.
