Doctor Mohammed Thamer Ali

Dr. Mohammed Ali is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Heart Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation. He completed his undergraduate medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. Ali underwent both basic and advanced cardiology training in Ireland under the supervision of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He was later awarded a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in Cardiac Biology from University College Cork. Dr. Ali pursued advanced interventional cardiology training in Ireland for three years before completing his cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. His research interests span a wide range of translational and clinical topics, including cardiac biology, mesenchymal stem cell therapy following myocardial infarction, the therapeutic potential of intracoronary IGF-1 in reducing infarct size, CX3CR1-coated stents in mitigating in-stent restenosis, cardiac remodeling following chemotherapy.
