Doctor Selma Hasific

Odense University Hospital, Odense (Denmark)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Dr. Selma Hasific is a cardiology researcher whose work centers on the prevention of cardiovascular disease through a focus on vascular calcification and advanced imaging. Currently a PhD student at Odense University Hospital, her research investigates the role of vitamin K metabolism in the development of coronary artery calcification. Alongside her core PhD project, Dr. Hasific has a growing interest in AI-based cardiac imaging and quantitative plaque analysis, aiming to refine early detection and risk prediction in high-risk populations. She has contributed to several large national trials exploring cardiovascular prevention across diverse risk groups, including patients with diabetes and individuals receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy. Through this combination of mechanistic research, clinical trials, and novel imaging approaches, Dr. Hasific is dedicated to advancing strategies that improve the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular disease.
