Professor O’Meara practices cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute/Université de Montréal. She completed a Fellowship in Heart Failure, and another in Stress Echocardiography and Tissue Doppler. She is a member of the Research Core Echo Laboratory at MHI, member of the teaching Committee at UdeM for Multisystem Diseases, member of the Internal Review Board at the MHI and Chief of Outpatients Clinics at MHI. She was Co-Chair of the Primary Panel for the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Canadian Heart Failure Society (CCS and CHFS) HF Guidelines and is currently co-chair of the Cardiorenal Protection Guidelines for the CCS/CHFS (2020-2022). She is co-director of the Myocardial Axis team for HF research at MHI. Her research focuses on remodelling and fibrosis in HF, including cardiac imaging biomarkers; as well as on comorbid conditions that contribute to HF, more specifically diabetes, CKD and anemia. She has been involved in several large HF trials as a NLI or a SC member.
