Dr Giulia Foccardi, M.D. Medical Resident at the Sport and Exercise Medicine Division – University of Padova. Her interests include Sport Cardiology, Genetic Cardiomyopathies, functional evaluations in athletes and patients affected by chronic diseases and Nutrition. During her medical residency, she is involved in cardiopulmonary exercise testing in patients with chronic diseases, such as solid organ transplantation (renal, liver and heart transplant), congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, obesity, COPD, neoplastic diseases, and in subject-tailored exercise prescription. Also, she is experienced in pre-participation cardiovascular screening of young and master athletes. Her ongoing research activities look into exercise prescription in primary care, evaluations in cardiomyopathies, epidemiology of sport-related trauma and nutritional behaviours of young athletes.
