Professor Johannes Waltenberger

Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Ludwig Waltenberger, F.E.S.C. currently serves as Professor of Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Vascular Medicine at the University of Muenster; and as invasive Cardiologist at DTH and Hirslanden Clinic in Park in Zurich. He serves as honorary editor for European Journal of Medical Research, as associate editor of the Netherlands Heart Journal and on the editorial boards of several other Journals including the European Heart Journal. He served as Councillor in the ESC-Board in 2008-2010 and is the past chair of the Council for Basic Cardiovascular Sciences of the ESC and served as topic coordinator for basic science in the Congress Program Committee of the ESC. He was reviewer for 116 different scientific journals and for 70 organizations. He counts more than 430 scientific publications, 2 patents and has supervised 9 PhD theses and 25 MD theses. His scientific work was quoted more than 31.500 times and his Hirsch index is 80.
