Ioana Dumitru is a board certified heart failure and transplant cardiologist, professor of medicine with University of South Florida and currently the Medical Director of MCS Program and Co-Director of Heart Failure Center of Excellence at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Dr Dumitru is also board certified in adult congenital heart disease. She has been practicing since 2003. Dr Dumitru has founded and directed two prior successful heart failure, MCS and heart transplant programs in her career with University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha Nebraska as well as Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood Florida Dr Dumitru has been involved in national landmark trials and has had multiple presentations and publications in the field of heart failure, MCS and cardiac transplantation Dr Dumitru is fluent in Romanian and English Dr Dumitru loves to travel, read, is an avid skier enjoys outdoor activities.
