Damiano Baldassarre, Sci Biol, PhD, is associate professor of pharmacology at the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Translational Medicine of University of Milan, Italy. He is the Head of the cardiovascular prevention program and Head of the Unit for the study of arterial morphology and function of Cardiology Monzino Centre I.R.C.C.S. He has expertise in the field of cardiovascular disease prevention and in ultrasonographic non-invasive diagnostic techniques aimed at the evaluation of the arterial characteristics from a morphological and functional point of view. His research interests include pathophysiology of atherosclerotic disease; peripheral circulation; arterial mechanics; vascular ultrasound; vascular aspects of metabolic disease and vascular pharmacology. He is or has been the scientific coordinator of multicenter studies (e.g. the Improve Study, CV-prevital study). He is author of more than 280 publications, 141 of them on peer review international journals.
