He got his medical degree from Universidad del Valle, a public university on Cali, Colombia, where he developed his first papers on immunology and rheumatology. Six months later he started his internal medicine degree with CES University on Medellin, Colombia where an intense interest on cardiology started to grow. Currently, He is a fellowship in Cardiology, where he is developing different lines of research, especially in cardiovascular critical care and electrophysiology.
