Assistant Professor Faisal Merchant

Dr. Faisal Merchant is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University. He received his medical degree from Duke University, completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and then a Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Emory. His clinical practice encompasses the full range of cardiac electrophysiology including pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, complex ablation of arrhythmias including SVT, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, lead extraction and percutaneous left atrial appendage management. His research interests focus on understanding the mechanisms of sudden cardiac death and on optimizing ICD utilization.
