Dr. Darío Mencía was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in Central America. There he attended medical school at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. Afterwards, completed his Internal Medicine Residency in Guatemala City at Hospital Universitario Esperanza, were he held the role of chief resident. Currently he is in his last year of training in Universidad de Guadalajara's Cardiology/Cardiovascular disease residency program at Hospital Civil de Guadalajara Fray Antonio Alcalde, were he also is taking duties as chief resident. He has interest in following echocardiography training after finishing cardiology residency.
His main hobbies are listening to music, playing electric guitar and watching football and tennis games. His native language is spanish but is a fully fluent english speaker.
