Clinical: Established and leads the largest tertiary specialist angina clinic in the UK receiving national and international referrals dealing with complex chest pain in the settings of advanced coronary artery disease, functional disorders of the coronary circulation (coronary microvascular dysfunction, vasospasm, muscle bridging), inflammatory arteritides, cardiomyopathy and adult congenital heart disease. Has established the largest clinical service for coronary sinus reducer implantation in UK. Additional specialist interests include intracoronary physiology and imaging. Research: Leads an established program of interdisciplinary experimental and translational research as well as clinical studies of novel diagnostics and stratified therapies for patients with ischaemic heart disease. Research areas: refractory angina, coronary microcirculation, plaque biomechanics, CMR, PET. Currently Associate Editor (Ischaemic Heart Disease), European Heart Journal.
