Associate Professor Mike Seed

Mike Seed is the Division Head of Cardiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and an Associate Professor of Paediatrics, Medical Imaging and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. His research has involved collaborations with imaging scientists, fetal physiologists, reproductive and neuroscientists and child development specialists to focus on the relationship between cardiovascular physiology and fetal and infant development, particularly in the setting of congenital heart disease and fetal growth restriction. These clinical studies have been enhanced by investigations of large animal models of human perinatal diseases. Dr Seed is also working on a swine model of the artificial placenta.
