Dr. McGurk is a cardiovascular geneticist and bioinformatician funded by a British Heart Foundation Immediate Research Fellowship. Her research aims to translate genetics into proactive clinical practice. She investigates the influence of genetics on cardiac structure and function using population datasets and multicentre patient cohorts. She has a background in metabolomics, common and rare DNA variant genomics, and large population dataset analyses.
