Professor Apostolos Tsapas

Prof Apostolos Tsapas graduated from Aristotle University Thessaloniki. Following a fellowship at Oxford Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism, he studied for an MSc in Evidence-based healthcare at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on knowledge synthesis (systematic reviews and meta-analyses) and clinical decision-making in medicine and diabetes. He has been involved in the development of the joined ADA/EASD position statements on the management of hyperglycaemia in type 2 diabetes since 2012. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, many of them in top-ranking medical journals. Prof Tsapas is currently Professor of Medicine and Diabetes, Head of the Second Medical Department and founding Lead Investigator of the Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine Unit at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and senior research fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, UK.
