MD, PhD, Dr. Stéphane Manzo-Silberman is an interventional cardiologist and a hospital practitioner at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Institute of Cardiology, Sorbonne University, Paris, France. Her research focuses on cardiac support in cardiogenic shock (basic research) and the specificities of coronary artery disease and cardiovascular risk factors in women (clinical research). She led the French meta-registry comparing time to and mortality between men and women in over 16,600 patients with myocardial infarction, and the WAMIF study (JAHA 2024): the first study describing the characteristics of women under 50 years of age with acute myocardial infarction. Committed to combating gender discrimination in patient care and interventional careers, she has contributed to or led several EAPCI consensus documents. She chairs the EAPCI Patient Advocacy Committee for the period 2024-2026. She works towards better integration of sex and gender data in cardiovascular research, screening and clinic.
