Kerstin Piayda is a cardiology consultant at the University Hospital Giessen and a research associate at the CVC Frankfurt, Germany. Her main research interests revolve around clinical studies in interventional cardiology with focus on structural heart disease (M-TEER, T-TEER, TAVI, LAAO) and endovascular acute stroke treatment. She holds a medical degree from the Goethe-University Frankfurt and an executive Master of Science in Health Economics, Outcomes and Management in Cardiovascular Sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. Kerstin has undergone experimental basic research training with focus on cellular changes in aortic valve stenosis at the Cardiovascular Research Laboratory Düsseldorf. She participates in numerous industry and investigator-initiated trials and specifically focuses on the interplay of mitral valve insufficiency and atrial fibrillation as well as tricuspid valve interventions.
