Prof. Lina Badimon is Professor of Medicine at UVic-UCC and Iris-CC, Vic-Barcelona. Her research activities focus on cardio-metabolic diseases, thrombosis, atherosclerosis and ischaemic heart disease. She has published over 710 articles in highly qualified journals with her work highly cited (>83,000). She is Executive Board Member of EHJ. Previous appointments in Spain and USA include: Director Cardiovascular Area at IR-SantPau, Director of ICCC in Barcelona, Director of Cardiology-Research at Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY; and Lecturer in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Consultant-at-the-Cardiac Unit, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. She has been Vice-President of ESC and of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, and President of the European Society for Clinical Investigation and of the Spanish Society of Atherosclerosis. She serves in public and private international scientific advisory boards and funding agencies.
