Dr. Juan Carlos López-Azor is a cardiologist specialised in heart failure and advanced therapies at Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda, in Madrid. Hi is part of the Heart Failure and Cardiorenal Unit of his centre. His academic work focuses on decongestion strategies, diuretic response, and physiology-based treatment protocols in acute heart failure, with particular interest in biomarker-guided therapy. He also has a strong interest in the development of technological health solutions applied to heart failure and in health economics. He has been awarded several competitive research grants supporting his scientific work. He is a member of the Cardiorenal Working Group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology and serves on the Scientific Committees on Digital Health and Telemonitoring and on Cardiorenal Diseases of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
