Francisco Leyva Professor of Cardiology and Director of Medical Research at Aston University, and Consultant Cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, UK. His clinical expertise is in cardiac device therapy (CRT, pacemakers, ICDs), heart failure, cardiomyopathies and cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). He is past President of the British Society of CMR (BSCMR) and has been a clinical advisor to NICE on the national guidelines for heart failure, cardiac devices and drug therapy. He has been EHRA Chair of the Health Economics Committee, EHRA Advocacy Pillar and member of the EHRA Nominating Committee. He has published extensively in the field of CRT, electrophysiology, CMR and heart failure.
