Professor Johanna Kuusisto is a cardiologist and internist at the University of Eastern Finland and Kuopio University Hospital. Previously an interventional cardiologist, her current interests are in science and education, in addition to clinical work. Her main research areas are genetics, risk factors and phenotype of myocardial disease, particularly hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and atherosclerotic vascular diseae including coronary artery disease and calcific aortic valve disease.
