Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. Emeritus Fellow of the ESC. Member of the Council of the ESH (2007-2015), currently “Executive-Officer” for relationships with Latin America. First Chair of the ESC Council on Hypertension (2012-2016); Past-Chair of the ESH WG on the Brain & Hypertension (2014-2016); and past-member of the ESC-CPG (2016-2018). Editor of 58 books on hypertension, published more than 600 papers in peer review international journals.
