Associate Professor Rabea Asleh

Prof. Rabea Asleh is a clinician-scientist, appointed as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Director of the Heart Failure (HF) Unit and the Cardiovascular Research Center at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel. He serves as the elected Chair of the HF WG of the IHS and is a nucleus member of the ESC WG on Myocardial & Pericardial Diseases. Prof. Asleh completed his MD/PhD at the Technion Institute of Technology, followed by clinical training in internal medicine and cardiology. He completed fellowships in HF and cardiomyopathy at Mayo Clinic and interventional HF at Johns Hopkins Hospital, with expertise in advanced HF, HFpEF, and myocardial diseases. His research focuses on HF phenotypes, myocarditis, the gut microbiome–heart axis, and cardiometabolic diseases. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles, mentors PhD and MD-PhD students, and maintains active international collaborations in translational cardiovascular research.
