Professor Declan O'Regan

Prof Declan O'Regan is British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiovascular AI and a Consultant Radiologist. He leads the Computational Cardiac Imaging Group at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences. He has recently served on MRC and BHF award committees, and currently chairs the SCMR Publications Committee. He has been awarded Roentgen and Rohan-Williams travelling professorships, and is a currently a Braunwald Scholar at Harvard University. His research is focussed on using machine learning to discover mechanisms that underpin cardiovascular disease by integrating data from human imaging, genetics and environmental risk factors. He collaborates with industry to accelerate progress in drug discovery using automated genotype-phenotype modelling. His work is funded by the Medical Research Council, British Heart Foundation, Heart Research UK, National Institutes of Health, Calico Labs and Bayer.
