Dr Daniel Freitag is head of the Biomedical Data Science function at Bayer AG, Division Pharmaceuticals in Wuppertal, Germany. With his team, he is responsible for enabling data-driven decision making (e.g. through bespoke analysis of large-scale –omics and electronic health record data) across the Bayer Pharma portfolio, with a focus on cardiovascular indications. He has a strong research interest in human genetics and other large scale “-omics” disciplines, drug discovery & development and digital health, with the overall ambition of making a difference to patients.
