Tetsuya Matoba, M.D., Ph.D. FESC, FAHA, FJCS is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Kyushu University Hospital in Fukuoka, Japan. His area of clinical expertise is in coronary artery disease, interventional cardiology and emergency cardiovascular medicine. His basic and clinical research focus is on inflammation, oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction and thrombosis in association with oxysterols in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease including atherosclerosis, vascular calcification, and myocardial remodeling after myocardial infarction. He also has conducted multicenter clinical trials focusing on coronary endothelial dysfunction and lipid-lowering therapy.
