Semmelweis University Heart and Vascular Center, Budapest (Hungary)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology
European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging

Dr. Bálint Szilveszter is a cardiologist and cardiovascular imaging researcher with a primary focus on coronary plaque imaging and novel CT technologies, including photon-counting CT. He has been an active member of the ESC since 2015, regularly contributing to its scientific meetings and global initiatives. He holds a PhD in cardiovascular imaging from Semmelweis University (2017) and has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications in coronary CT, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 800 and more than 2,000 citations. He is also Head of the Cardiac CT Working Group at the Heart and Vascular Center, Semmelweis University, where he leads the national research program in cardiovascular CT. He serves as Hungary’s ambassador for the EACVI Heart Imagers of Tomorrow (HIT) initiative and remains actively engaged in both local and international collaborations aimed at advancing clinical excellence and innovation in cardiac CT.
