After graduating in Medicine in 2006, Pietro Ameri completed the residency and received his PhD in 2014 at the University of Genova, Italy.
He is now Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Genova / IRCCS San Martino Policlinic Hospital, where he leads a translational research laboratory. He also directs the Heart Failure outpatient program and the Cardio-oncology service.
He is currently Secretary of the ESC Council of Cardio-oncology and he is the local chairperson of the upcoming ESC 2025 Cardio-Oncology Conference.
His primary interests are heart failure and cardio-oncology, especially with respect to the interplay between heart failure, cancer, and cancer treatments.
Pietro Ameri's research group includes biologists, biotechnologists and physicians and is funded by several grants.
