Scot Garg is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Blackburn. He qualified from the University of Manchester in 1999 and completed his PCI training in 2008. Between 2008 and 2010, he undertook research at the Thoraxcentre, Rotterdam, leading to his PhD, which was awarded cum laude in 2011 for his thesis, "Risk Stratification in Patients Undergoing PCI". Prior to taking up his consultant post, he worked as an interventional fellow at the University Hospitals of North Staffordshire. He gained fellowship of the ESC in 2011 and fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2015. He has published >275 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He continues to be involved with clinical research, with his main interests being radial access, risk stratification, and coronary stents.
